Toy Story 5 Trailer Pits The Beloved Duo Against a Tablet Computer
Exactly 30 years after the original Toy Story movie was released, establishing the animation giant as a major film company and bringing audiences to beloved characters like Woody (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (Tim Allen), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, providing a glimpse into the storyline but keeping viewers wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Spooks the Toys
In the teaser reveals the young girl — who received the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a latest plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. She acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
One thing the trailer avoids is what the sheriff is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (the actress), traveling with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.
Surely, the filmmakers will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Seeing him appear in the familiar setting unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with Woody. And where is the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
Continuity from the Previous Film
Fortunately, some elements are carrying over from the prior film. The final act Woody did before setting off for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), entrusting her as the leader of the toy domain. In the teaser shows the badge pinned to her shirt.
It is hoped she is remains the key figure among the toys.
